2017

July - No Meeting

August - No meeting

September 10 - this will start early at 1:30 with a special Meet, Greet and Eat gathering.  We will have small finger sandwiches, drinks and snacks to start with.  Following the meeting we will have our regular “sweet” treats.

Our speaker will be Dennis Niklas of the Oklahoma Rose Society.  Dennis grows numerous miniatures and Miniflora’s.  He is a top exhibitor and has shown his roses on the Tulsa show, South Central District shows and National shows.  Dennis will have photos in addition to telling us about the best way to care for the little ones.

October 8 -  Mike Shoup of the Antique Rose Emporium will be our guest speaker.  Mike is an author of several books in addition to operating the Antique Rose Emporium.  Watch for the September newsletter for his topic.  He may also be able to bring  pre-ordered roses so watch for those details.  In October we will also have a report from the Nominating Committee of the officers nominated to serve in 2018.  If you would like to serve in some capacity, contact Don and Brenda Johnson.

November 12 -  November is our election month so we will be voting for our new officers.  Our Speaker will be Dr. Jen Olsen from OSU.  She has been leading the research on rosette disease and will report the results of their projects for 2017.

December 10 -  Mary Horrigan has offered her home again  for our holiday gathering.  The Society will furnish the Ham and members are asked to bring a pot luck dish.  This will be coordinated as we confirm attendance at a later date.  We have a lot of fun with games and activities that Mary puts together.

January 8 - (or the first meeting of the year, depending on the weather!)  We will start the new year off with the installation of our 2018 officers.  At this time we do not have a program defined, so let us know your ideas!
